So this is Jesus, after the resurrection. You know, he’s no longer dead. He has been raised up from the dead. And Bible says there are forty days after his resurrection. He’s appearing to the disciples just before his ascension to heaven. Just before Jesus physically went back to heaven. Because whatever pertains to the kingdom of God most important in your life.

Jesus himself said in Luke 17, he said the kingdom of God is within you. Colossians tells us that God has transferred us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of his Son, which is the kingdom of God. So anybody that’s speaking of things, especially Jesus, that pertains or has to do with the kingdom of God, I as a believer, I want to listen. Because that is my kingdom. Are you hearing what I’m saying? That is where I belong. Praise God.

Every born again believer, that’s how I knew about the kingdom. But notice Jesus said the kingdom of God does not come with observation. It’s not a visible kingdom, but it is a powerful kingdom. It is within us. That’s why when the anointing comes, people don’t know what’s happening, but they’re falling like sticks. People are getting them healed. They can’t see it, but it’s there. It’s called the kingdom. Kingdom power. Hallelujah. And it is a power that passes all other power. You can’t see it, but honey, he can touch you.

Glory be to God. It’s awesome. So Jesus is talking about things pertaining to the kingdom, and so let’s find out what are these things. Verse 4, And being assembled together with them, commanded. Underline that word, commanded. He did not suggest. That’s the difference between a commandment and a suggestion. A suggestion, you have a choice. A commandment, you don’t have a choice. If you do it, you will get the result of it. If you don’t do it, you get the negative aspect of it. He did not suggest.

He commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for what? The promise of the Father, which said he, you have heard of me. Does somebody hear what I’m saying? Jesus commanded this. I said, don’t leave Jerusalem. After I have gone away, don’t leave Jerusalem. Wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father. If you go to John chapter 14, John chapter 16, Jesus talks about this promise of the Father.

It was the Holy Ghost that was going to come from heaven and affect their life. Now notice verse 5, For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. So, Jesus makes it plain. You shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Now, concerning the relationship of the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit to the believer, we have two broad terminologies that we use. The first terminology we call it the Spirit within.

That is what happens when somebody is born again. You are regenerated on the inside by the power of the Holy Spirit. There is a new life that the Spirit brings. How many are born again here? Are you sure about that? How many are proud to be born again? So, after they have been born again, and this is where I’m going, they have got Jesus, got direction, got order in their lives. Jesus now tells them, now you are born again. Yes, that’s been taken care of. The Spirit has come within you, but it’s not enough. You must now have the Spirit upon you. We refer to the baptism of the Holy Spirit as the Spirit upon us. So, the believer goes through two major experiences. One at salvation, the Spirit comes within. Regeneration.

Then after salvation, there is the baptism. We call it the Spirit upon. Hallelujah! You don’t stop with the Spirit within. He also needs to be upon. Because you are not in heaven yet, you are still on this earth. Jesus commanded. Notice what, notice what, yes, I keep repeating that. He commanded. In other words, if somebody says, hey, don’t go until you get something. What does that mean? That you need it. Are you getting what I’m saying? Don’t go without, it means you need it. If you forget it, it’s going to hurt you. If you don’t go with it, something’s not going to be right. So, do not leave Jerusalem until you have received the promise of the Father, which is the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah! And I was reading that, and you go to verse 6, and then you hear the disciples.

And when they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, will thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? Listen to them, they are thinking of a physical kingdom. Jesus immediately told them, it is not for you to know the times or the seasons as the Father hath said. But look at verse 8 again, but you shall receive power. After that the Holy Ghost is what? Is come upon you. Notice what is going on here. Jesus is telling them about something important, they are distracted immediately. He was not talking about a physical kingdom. It’s amazing. He was talking about something spiritual, yet very powerful. So powerful that it controls the physical. They did not get it. So Jesus brought them back to the point he was making.

I’m not talking about the physical kingdom, I’m talking about the power of the Holy Ghost. But you shall receive power. After that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth. You shall become witnesses unto me. A witness is somebody who can stand for whatever they believe, anywhere, anytime, before anybody. Paul said in Romans 1.16, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know what it is. It is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that I am not ashamed of it. That’s a witness.

Ready to die, lay down my life, stand before anybody, and talk about what this power of the gospel means today. Are you getting what I’m saying? That was part of the work of the Holy Spirit, to do a work of boldness in our lives. Are you hearing what I’m saying? Listen to me, child of God. One of the things the Spirit of God brings into your life, immediately you are born again, you are baptized in the Holy Ghost, and begin to speak with other tongues, is the spirit of boldness. Are you hearing what I’m saying? Go with me, let’s continue in the book of Acts, a little bit. I’m going to come back to that in a few minutes.

Look at this in Acts chapter 3. Oh I love this, I love this, I love this. Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the night hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple, which is called beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple. Who seen Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked an alms, and Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to do what? To receive something from them. Then Peter said, See Van Gogh, have I none but such as I have, give I thee in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.

And he took him by the right hand, lifted him up, immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood and walked and entered into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God. And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the beautiful gate of the temple. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him. Can somebody say Hallelujah? I could preach a whole week on that. Peter and John, common people. You know one of the things that excites me about the ministry of the Spirit, especially in proclaiming Jesus, as I study my Bible I find that God was not waiting for any perfect human being. God was not waiting for any specialized human being.

God, Jesus, big fishermen, tax collectors, common people. But you know what my friend, when the Holy Ghost comes upon you, you become uncommon. You become unusual. That’s one thing we’ve lost today ladies and gentlemen. That’s one thing we’ve lost today because believers have become so dominated by the flesh. That very few, even though they are born again, I’m born again now, I read my Bible. Very few know how to walk in the realm of the Spirit. How to walk connected to the realm of the Spirit. So you find a lot of people just dragging, just struggling through life.

But I’m born again. I’m born again. It’s not a popular time. Everybody is born again now. No, no, no. When the Holy Ghost comes my friend, He brings a difference. It doesn’t matter where you’re coming from. You go to 1 Corinthians chapter 1, the Bible says that God doesn’t pick the respectable. God doesn’t go for the noble. God doesn’t go for the rich. He goes for the rejected. He goes for the nobodies. He goes for those who have no hope because by the time He finishes polishing their life around, people will wonder and say, eh, it’s made up. I don’t care what anybody does. I’m not going back.

I have left darkness. I am in the light. I am not going back. I have left heaviness. I’m into lightness. I’m into praise. I am not going back. I don’t understand people. I don’t know. I’m sorry. Like that monkey I always tell you about in that postcard. Even monkey said, I have been poor. I have been rich. Rich is better. Monkey knows that too. It’s like some humans don’t know that. They want to go back to their mess. I’m not going back. I don’t know about anybody. No, no, no, no. I have tasted of the Lord and He is good. I don’t want to taste anything else. You can taste what you like. Mmm, this one is too good. Amen somebody. So God will pick ordinary people. Peter and John were fishermen.

Acts chapter 3, they were not special evangelists, special apostles. No, no, no. Common everyday people. That’s one of my prayers today for the church. Not waiting for a pastor, a special evangelist, somebody who can pray special prayers. What doesn’t work in Jerusalem will not work in Judea. If it works in Judea, it’s magic. It must start from where you are. Are you getting what I’m saying? A person who cannot heal himself, don’t believe him.Jesus has order. It starts in Jerusalem, Judea and then to the outermost. So if God calls you to ministry in the outermost part of the world and in your own country, you don’t have ministry.

I don’t believe in your ministry. It must start from where you are. That is the order of God. Because if it does not work where you are, it won’t work elsewhere. Anyway, Peter and John, common ordinary people. Have you noticed Bible doesn’t tell us Archbishop, Doctor, Engineer, Peter. An Apostle, Evangelist, John. Anybody read that in the Bible? They were just Peter and John. Human beings that look for title to be able to do anything for God.

Am I reading the same Bible as you are reading? All that mattered was that they were just ordinary common people, but they were filled with the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. That’s all we need today. We don’t need any title. You don’t need any. I mean we use it.

I use Reverend just because I have to relate to this world. I don’t need Reverend. I don’t need any special title. I need the power of the Holy Ghost. That’s what I need. And you get into trouble when your attention begins to shift to those things and not on what is really important. That’s what’s getting a lot of people into trouble. In the ministry, in the churches. They tend to begin to judge spiritual things by what title they have or how many cars they drive. It don’t make sense. And when they begin now to lean on the flesh, the power disappears. And when the power disappears, in a typical Nigerian setting, you’ve got to keep performing now.

They’ll now go and look for power. Honey, you don’t look for this power. It comes upon you. Any Christian I tell you is looking for power, I can tell you say he’s looking for juju. You don’t look for the power of the Holy Ghost. It can happen to you in your room. You don’t look for power. You don’t go into no bush to look for no power. Jesus didn’t say you look for the power. No, He says stay here, it will come. Oh, come on somebody. Somebody hear what I’m saying. I’m going to one place, I look to get the power. Which power are you getting? I know who’s bringing that type. It can be God.

Is somebody getting what I’m saying? This is not a struggle, ladies and gentlemen. I’m not struggling to be a Christian. I am a Christian, filled with the Holy Ghost, worshipping Jesus. I am not struggling to be a Christian. You understand what I’m saying? I am a Christian, born again, filled with the Holy Ghost. I talk to my Father. He doesn’t take me in His trouble. Because it’s me. I have changed my identity. Amen, somebody. So we have Christians running from pillar to post today. They are digging in the Bible somewhere to get power.

And then they see on the poster, come and get power. Ah, no wonder. You don’t give them anything. Give you rubbish. And they begin to have more problems. Listen to me. Holy Ghost power solves problems. It doesn’t increase problems. Any power you receive that increases your problems. You know where it came from. It’s not from God. Listen to me. I’m deliberately saying these things because these are the things that have distracted us from the real issue. Funny statements of people, title consciousness, self-consciousness, running from pillar to post instead of concentrating. He didn’t say greater is He that is in you.

He didn’t say greater is He that is in the camp or in the Reviver. He is in you. So the devil has succeeded in getting our eyes off what we have to what we are looking for. What are you looking for? We fail to see that in the Holy Ghost God has provided everything we need. So we are still running here. I’m going to get power here. I’m going to get this one there. Ah, special anointing. People will make a special poster. Come for special anointing. In fact, some places will never be free. We don’t tell them there is anointing service. Only in the name of looking for this power. But what I read in my Bible is that this thing is not that difficult. Oh Jesus, help us.

Come on, let’s get back to the simplicity of this thing. Can somebody say Amen? It’s so simple. It is so simple. Listen to me, I repeat again. Don’t go running to no man, no Reviver to get power. If God doesn’t give you, no man can give you. Of course man can give you his own version of power. Amen somebody? I repeat again, the anointing solves problems, it doesn’t increase problems. Anything you have received that’s increasing your problems, you know where it’s coming from. It cannot be the anointing. But you see, if people don’t stay with the simplicity of this thing, this is where we are. And in this country it’s become a farce.

Hallelujah. You know Matthew 6.33 is so simple. Seek ye first the kingdom. It didn’t say seek power. Show me in the Bible where the Bible says seek power. No, seek the kingdom. The power is in the kingdom. Amen somebody? Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all orders including power will be added. So if your heart is not right, your motives are not right, no wonder people are getting all kinds of spirits. Somebody say Amen. So Peter and John command ordinary people like you and I. And that’s been my prayer, like I was saying a few minutes ago, that forget about the fivefold ministry, apostles, prophets, pastors. Hey, we’re not many.

There are more people in the body of Christ that are not in the fivefold ministry. God did not say I will pour out my spirit. You only have an apostle, prophet, evangelist. He said I will pour out my spirit upon all. Come on somebody. All Include you. Same Holy Ghost. Yes, those who are standing in the ministry offices can do a little bit more. But it’s not for their self glorification. It’s for God’s glorification. So when I see anybody boasting about the spirit of God for his own exploits, I shake my head. He’s going to come down very soon. Because the anointing is not for self glorification. It is not, look at what I did.

You didn’t do nothing, you were just used. And when you become useless, somebody else will be used. Amen. So be useful, don’t be useless. Because God will find somebody else quickly for that matter. Amen somebody. Common everyday people. But because they had the power of the Holy Spirit, even the miraculous, common everyday people. People like you and I, my brother, my sister. Now tell me, did the Bible say, now Peter who had been to seminary five years, and John who went to Bible college and first did his bachelors, and then did his masters in theology, and then became PhD, went to the temple. These are fishermen, they didn’t have time to do no, they don’t even know what theology means. Is somebody getting my words tonight? They didn’t go for no extra Bible study, people are so spoilt today, wasting all their time.

Let’s be very careful, it’s one of the things that turns off the Holy Ghost, is self-glory. It is an ante to the Spirit of God. See the law of God is this, let no flesh glory in His sight. Once flesh begins to glory, Holy Ghost withdraws. Then you have to perform, since you are the one glorying in yourself, you have to perform. This is where people run into trouble. Because they now, they will use any means to perform. Let no flesh glory in His sight, one of the things the Holy Spirit hates the most is flesh. I’m serious right now, and I don’t mean you have to be a pastor to exhibit flesh, you can just be an ordinary person and still exhibit flesh, we call it pride.

Pride is flesh. Humility is spirit. Take your Bibles, God only exalts the humble. God says, I will bring down the proud. Why? Because the flesh, He does not allow the flesh to glory in His sight. And if you are not walking in the Spirit, full of the Holy Ghost, conscious of the presence of the Spirit, listen to me, your flesh will always dominate you. Give you wrong advice, make you say the wrong thing, make you take the wrong path. You know the reason why a lot of Christians make wrong choices in life? Flesh. Because the Spirit will always lead you in the will of God. But flesh, uh-uh, it’s plotting your downfall. Jesus was not joking here when He said, do not leave Jerusalem until this power comes upon your life, because that is when He’ll be able to control your life. That’s when you’ll be able to be connected to the realm of the Spirit. Yes, you are flesh and blood, okay? You were born of a man and a woman, you are flesh and blood. But flesh and blood is not enough. Flesh and blood cannot inherit or experience what? The Kingdom of God.

You must be born again. And after you are born again, the connection to that Spirit realm is maintained by the anointing and the power of the Holy Spirit in your life. I must grow and become so Spirit conscious until my flesh does not have any more reckoning.

Now that’s an ongoing process. Nobody is perfected in that area, okay? But the Bible says you must begin to learn to become sensitive, become so full of this Holy Ghost on the inside, desire that connection constantly in your life. Constantly. Oh, I tell you, as I go in ministry, that’s one thing I depend upon so strongly. It’s not by merit or power, it’s not by my reasoning or wisdom. No, no, no. The supernatural is not about that. The supernatural is about what the Spirit of God can do. And once you have the Holy Ghost, and you are want… Now, catch this. Too many people have this idea that just because I speak in tongues, I’m full of the Spirit. That’s not true. Did you know that in our country, in Africa, witches speak in tongues? Does that make them born again? Does that make them Spirit-filled? So be very careful just because somebody spoke in tongues.

That’s not what we’re doing. See, people just look for the sign, they don’t look for the fruit. And too many of our believers today are carried away with the sign. That’s our problem in the church. People lack discernment because they are busy looking for signs. You know what Jesus said in the Bible? He said, it is only an evil and adulterous generation that seeketh signs. That’s what Jesus said in the Bible. It’s an evil people, adulterous, who have no commitment to God, are the ones seeking for signs. Because everything you need is in the kingdom.

Evil signs, I wonder, is in the kingdom. The primary thing is the kingdom, not signs. You don’t dissect the kingdom. Prosperity is in the kingdom, so you don’t go and be looking for prosperity alone. What about righteousness? If you can say yes, they owe me. Our connection to that realm of the Spirit is by the Holy Ghost, our constant connection. So it doesn’t matter how I feel in the flesh. It doesn’t matter what’s facing me in the flesh. I am born again and full of the Holy Ghost. And I’m going to keep that wheel turning on the inside of me. When I come here, I pray loud. When I’m on my own, I pray quietly. I can stand at the bus stop and just stay by my own. When I’m on the plane, because people were all around me, I excused myself. I went to the toilet, you know.

Oh Lord, when that engine was roaring, I was firing that bathroom. Glory be to God. I love to do that. Why do I bother, if you might ask? Because I want to be full of the Holy Ghost. He’s the Spirit of expectancy. Everywhere I go in this world, I want miracles to follow me. I want to receive, you know why? That’s why I stay full of the Holy Ghost. Everywhere I go, I want to be the one in dominion, not the devil. And you’ve heard me say it before.

When a Christian becomes charged with the power of the Holy Ghost, and you begin to pray in other tongues consistently, begin to charge yourself up. I don’t care if you live next to a witch. The witch will start thinking of new accommodations. Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit, sayeth the Lord. I don’t need to, I don’t walk around enemy conscious. Enemy conscious, who wants to kill me? Who do you go for me? Who’s waiting for me? I’ll bust out.

Oh Lord, have mercy. Let me show you something about the power of the Holy Ghost. Go into Acts chapter 10. Let me show you something about the mantle of the anointing, that you begin to walk in. You don’t need any special, special. No, be a believer.

Walk in the conscious. Stay yourself up in the Spirit. Pray in tongues consistently. Quiet when you’re among people. Loud when you’re by yourself. Why? You’re stirring up the Spirit of the inside of you. Reminding yourself you’re not just ordinary. Somebody lift up that hand and say, I am not ordinary. See, that’s what the Holy Ghost does in your life. You are not ordinary. Anybody born again filled with the Holy Ghost is not ordinary. Are you hearing what I’m saying? Watch this. Notice in Acts chapter 10, verse 38. Let’s read it together. One, two, go. What does it say? Acts 10, 38. Read it loud. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Now, what was Jesus anointed with? The Holy Ghost and power. See, when you get the Holy Ghost, you get the power.

You just need to stay Him up. Jesus was anointed with the Holy… He carried the fullness of the Spirit. I want you to watch this with me. Everywhere He went, the Bible says, He went about doing what? Doing good. See, the anointing, the fullness of the Spirit, brings good your way. That’s the only thing it allows. Hallelujah. Oh, Lord, have mercy. I’m probably going to get into that later. But notice something here. Go to the middle of the book of Luke’s Gospel, chapter 5. I want to show you something. I want to show you what the anointing does in your life. And one of the reasons why we’re teaching to convert that…

    <div class="elementor-element elementor-element-e45da32 cmsmasters-block-default
